Vogtle Nuclear Power Plant Units 1-2

When Vogtle Nuclear Units 1 & 2 were nearing commercial operation, Pegasus-Global was retained by GPC to conduct an independent review of the reasonableness and effectiveness of the Company’s management performance relative to the engineering, procurement, and construction of these units. The construction cost of these units reached $8.9 billion (or roughly $20 billion in today’s dollars), with Pegasus-Global’s review focused on:

  • Assessing the management processes used by GPC to plan, execute, and control project activities.

  • Identifying management actions that may have impacted the project cost and/or schedule.

  • Determining the effectiveness of overall project management efforts and the extent to which these efforts avoided, mitigated, or resulted in cost and/or schedule impacts.

This review culminated in Pegasus-Global’s experts providing testimony in support of the project’s prudence hearing before the Georgia Public Service Commission.
