Darlington New Nuclear Project
The Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) represents the first commercial deployment of a small modular reactor in the G7. The DNNP uses BWRX-300 reactor technology, with the overall program planning for four units to be deployed with a total output of approximately 1,200 MW. Pegasus-Global was retained to perform a readiness assessment of OPG’s pre-execution planning and execution readiness as it executes the DNNP. The pre-execution planning assessment focused on the development of the DNNP’s baseline schedule and cost estimate, the initial contracting strategy applied on the DNNP, and the incorporation of lessons learned into the planning process. While the execution readiness examined the Program’s governance structure, contract management, project controls, and ongoing lessons learned program as it captures the experience from the first unit to inform the execution of the subsequent units.
Pegasus-Global’s readiness assessment is publicly filed with the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) under Docket # EB-2025-0297.
